Dear Students, Parents and Guardians:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank students, staff, parents, volunteers and Trenton Middle School community for helping to make this school year a huge success.
June is another busy month here at Trenton Middle School. I remind students to remain focused on their academic work as these final few weeks pass. We also have some special events planned: the Mawiomi, June dance and all of the various class trips.
I want to thank the TMS team for another very successful year. However, we will have some changes to the staff for the 2018-19 school year. I want to congratulate Mr. Owen Ferguson on his retirement after his many years of teaching with CCRSB. I also want to congratulate Mrs. Val Cyr who will be transferring to McCulloch Education Center in her home town of Pictou and Mrs. Catherine Lever will be joining the staff of Central Colchester Junior High as their Guidance Counsellor.
There are some new additions to TMS as well. We are pleased to have Mrs. Beth Cyr and Ms. Hayley Bernard joining the TMS team. Mrs. Cyr will be teaching Grade 7 and 8 Core French, Social Studies and Science. Ms. Bernard will be teaching Grade 5/6 alongside Mrs. Karen Crane-Georgeson. Mrs. Sarah Wood is returning to teach Grade 7 and 8 ELA, Social Studies and Grade 7 Healthy Living. Currently, we are still in the process of filling other positions and are hopeful that this process will be completed by the end of June.
As always I am very proud to be a member of such a caring and dedicated school community. I wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer.
Shaun MacDonald, Principal
